Alerting

Nooryx uses an active alerting system to monitor inventory conditions so operators do not have to manually check reports. When a specific logical condition is met (such as stock falling below a safety threshold) the system generates a notification in the Alerts inbox.

This shifts inventory management from reactive checking to proactive resolution.

The Alert Inbox

The Alerts page acts as a central notification hub. It aggregates all system messages, grouping them by context to prevent clutter.

  • All Alerts / Unread: Toggle between viewing history and focusing on new issues.
  • Grouping: Similar alerts (e.g., multiple SKUs needing reordering) are bundled into a single expandable card.
  • State Management: Users can Mark as read individually or use Mark all as read to clear the inbox after reviewing updates.

Severity Levels

Nooryx categorizes alerts into three severity levels to help prioritize work.

  • Critical: Indicates an immediate blocker or risk. This typically triggers when an item is completely out of stock (0 quantity).
  • Warning: Indicates an upcoming issue. This triggers when stock falls below the configured Reorder Point but is not yet fully depleted.
  • Info: Administrative updates that do not require inventory action, such as a new team member joining the workspace.

Configuring Triggers

Alerts are deterministic. They are triggered based on the specific thresholds configured in your settings.

  1. Global Threshold Default: You can set a workspace-wide Default Reorder Point and Low Stock Threshold in the Operations Settings. This is used to prefill the reorder point and low stock threshold fields in all the forms that require them.
  2. SKU-Level Overrides: Specific SKUs can have their own reorder points and low stock thresholds defined on the product page (see SKU Configuration for more details).

Alerts are enabled by default

Nooryx automatically generates alerts for all items in your inventory. You can disable these alerts in the Operations Settings or by SKU-level configuration.

Resolving Alerts

An alert remains valid until the underlying condition changes or the user dismisses it.

  • Dismissal: Clicking Mark as read removes the notification from the "Unread" view. This acknowledges the information without changing the stock state.
  • Resolution: To stop the system from generating new reorder alerts for an item, you must replenish the stock via a Receive Stock workflow until the quantity exceeds the reorder point.
